Deep Water Well in Yemen
Described by the UN as ‘The worst man-made humanitarian crisis of our time’, the war in Yemen has turned a poor country into a humanitarian catastrophe.
Already one of the most water-scarce countries in the world, the destruction of so much of the country's infrastructure has left a massive 17.8 million people without access to safe water and sanitation.
This has increased the spread of waterborne diseases; since April 2017, there have been over two million suspected cases of cholera and over 3700 deaths.
£6,000 (approximately $10,200 CAD) will construct/rehabilitate a deep water well, providing communities with clean, safe water on their doorstep.
