Rashida's Story

Rashida's Story

‘Whoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like that of the fasting person, without any reduction in his reward’.   (Tirmidhi)

45-year-old Rashida was forced to flee her village in Myanmar after her son and husband were brutally killed in their family home. Leading her 10-year-old daughter through dense jungle, they passed over the border into Bangladesh. Now living in a refugee camp, they are just one of thousands of displaced families who are struggling to survive.

Rashida and her daughter’s new home is a flimsy tent on a steep, muddy hill. Their bed is a floor mat. With no electricity or fan to keep them cool, they face a long month of fasting in the sweltering heat.

However, the heat is the least of their problems. Rashida’s main worry is finding food. She wants to provide for her family but simply does not have the means. Her Iftar consists of whatever food people have been charitable enough to donate. Without your help, Rashida and her daughter will go hungry.

By donating just £90 you can provide a Ramadan food parcel for a family like Rashida’s ensuring they have all the essentials they need to get them through the holy month. This Ramadan, spend your wealth in the way of Allah (swt). Give Iftar to your brothers and sisters in need and gain the divine reward.
