This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the UK's leading Muslim charities. This position is central to our campaign to develop and maintain relationships with mosques, schools, volunteers, community centres along with other Islamic institutions in order maximise fundraising and awareness of Muslim Hands.
Position location: Birmingham, Leicester, Manchester or Bradford
Based in one of the locations mentioned above, you will be required to travel country-wide, to engage with our target organisations & volunteers. You will also occasionally be required to travel to our London and Nottingham headquarters.
You will be working closely with other members of the fundraising department to gain exposure for the charity and the fundraising campaigns run throughout the year. 
The Events & Volunteer team is essential to the growth of Muslim Hands both in raising awareness via our events which host thousands of people throughout the year, increasing awareness of our work and generating donations. Your role will be central in expanding this and helping further the reach of Muslim Hands.

Position Summary


  • To be the first point of contact for enquiries in volunteering and events for your local area.
  • To support, manage and supervise the recruitment of volunteers
  • To equip head volunteers with the knowledge, motivation and understanding to carry out their role within the community on behalf of Muslim Hands.
  • To work closely with key volunteers and groups to maximise Muslim Hands' presence and work in the local community
  • To support our flagship events in your local area including Gaza Winter Walk, Ramadan activities and a range of outdoor and international events.
  • To organise and be responsible for local events in your area in order to maximise Muslim Hands presence and raise funds for our various projects.
  • To arrange and attend Mosque collections and make announcements to the congregation in the masjidea.
  • To build relationships with key groups and businesses in your local area such as schools, scout groups and supermarkets.
  • Ensure that all practices of the work carried out is clearly planned, monitored and evaluated in.
  • Ensure all activity is conducted within up-to-date policies including health and safety and data management.
  • To work closely with Events and Volunteers fundraising manager and the fundraising team


  • Good understanding and empathy with Muslim Hands principals
  • Commitment to Muslim Hands vision and mission.
  • Clean driving licence and access to a car
  • Excellent communication both verbally and written
  • High organisational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and plan time effectively.
  • Able to work independently as well as a part of a team
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences.
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office and databases
  • Ability to motivate, mentor and coach others in achieving the overall goal of a particular task or event.
  • Willing to be flexible after work hours in order to accommodate events, meetings and collections.
  • To be able to travel across the UK, internationally and where priorities demand.
  • Able to work outside an office environment and manage relationship remotely
  • A broad understanding of fundraising techniques within an events capacity


  • Able to drive a long wheel based van
  • Experience working int the charity sector
