Muslim Hands is a UK-based international relief organisation working in over 40 countries worldwide. The Head Office is in Nottingham and we have a fundraising team in Limehouse, London. Therefore, occasional travel between the two locations will be required. Muslim Hands UK is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our team during an exciting period of growth and change as we have ambitious plans to grow our activities by 2020.

The Emergency Programme Coordinator will assist the Emergency Lead specifically in target intervention. The EPC will be responsible for communication with the partners, as well as day-to-day project management including MEL, documentation, reporting and project development. The EPC will also be responsible for quality assurance and enhanced accountability.

Position Summary

Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting the implementation of MH strategy 2018-2020 within target intervention and ensure the programme is working towards organisational goals.
  • Taking a leading role in project design.
  • Taking a leading role in the development and management of a multi-sector and holistic resilience programme, and ensuring strong coordination between the different sub-offices, programme sectors and Project Managers.
  • Defining partnership strategy for national counterparts (CBOs, NGOs, local partners, local authorities, different line ministries, etc.) and designing appropriate action plan.
  • Contributing to the fundraising strategy, and coordination of fundraising opportunities.
  • Ensuring that the programme is implemented in a consultative, participative, transparent and gender-sensitive way.
  • Ensuring MH representation in appropriate external programmatic forums/working groups and clusters.
  • Ensuring active participation of MH partners in all steps of the Programme Cycle Management and strengthening partners’ capacities in pre-identified areas, including community participation.
  • Monitoring and evaluating programme work to maintain and/or improve the quality, incorporating learning into the programme and ensuring the achievement of the desired impact.
  • Supporting teams in capacity building on Accountability, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning.
  • Working with the team to develop innovative ways to gather community feedback (e.g. effective complaint mechanisms).
  • Providing all stakeholders with technical advice and support on EMR issues.

  • Knowledge of local language and/or regional experience
  • Previous coordination experience (Field, Project, Admin, Log)
  • Proven representation experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure

What we are Looking for: Desirable

  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Diploma in a field related to the job (humanitarian, sciences, programmes operation etc.)
