The Umayyad Masjid Renovation Fund

“And whoever honours the symbols of Allah – for indeed, it is from the piety of the hearts.”[The Noble Qur’an, 22:32]
The Umayyad Masjid is arguably the fourth holiest site in Islam after the Ka‘bah, Al-Masjid An-Nabawi and Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa. It is located in the heart of the Syrian capital, Damascus, a city the Prophet (saw) described as, “one of the best cities of Shaam (Greater Syria).” [Abu Dawud]
This Blessed Masjid contains the noble head of the Prophet Yahya (as) and the noble head of Imam Husain (ra), the beloved grandson of the Prophet (saw) was brought here after the horrific events of Karbala.
Of its three minarets, one is believed to be the exact location where the Prophet ‘Isa (as) will return in his second coming. The Prophet (saw) said, “The Messiah (‘Isa), son of Maryam [peace be upon them both] will descend at the white minaret in the eastern side of Damascus…” [Muslim]
We need your help to help honour this Blessed Masjid by installing [1] a modern underfloor heating system to the main prayer hall, [2] a brand-new state-of-the-art digital sound system for the entire Masjid and [3] providing new copies of the Noble Qur’an to its blessed worshippers.
