If someone is unable to fast due to old age or a chronic illness, they are required to pay Fidyah—if they can afford it.

Fidyah provides two meals per day for a person in need throughout the fasting month.

We recommend a donation of £7 per missed fast, ensuring those in need are fed to the same standard as we feed ourselves. 

The Fidyah Fund is available should you wish to donate a different amount from that recommended.
