Water Filtration Plant: Bangladesh
With over 3.4 million people dying from water-related illnesses each year [WHO], unsafe water is the single biggest obstacle to the progression and health of communities in the developing world. In Bangladesh, despite significant improvement to water and sanitation infrastructure, only 34.6% of the population has access to safe drinking water.
A filtration system eradicates up to 99% of dissolved solids, particles, colloids, organics, bacteria and pyrogens from water, transforming it from something infected and dangerous to something clean and safe. The filtration plants are built in areas that have particularly low levels of access to clean water and are housed in sturdy weather-proof structures. The plant will provide a safe water source to 500 people every single day.
