Brick House: Sri Lanka
The Prophet (saw) said, 'There is no right for the son of Adam other than these things: a house in which he lives, a garment to cover his nakedness, a piece of bread, and water'. [Tirmidhi]
The long civil war in Sri Lanka tragically displaced many Muslim communities from their homes. After years of suffering, they were finally able to return home and resettle, but they are struggling with desperate poverty. In rural Sri Lanka, hundreds of families are now living in shelters which are completely unsuitable for any human being, at the mercy of the rain, cold or intruders.
Help us build brick houses and fulfil their rights. Each home (pictured left) will be approximately 390 square feet and will include one room, one kitchen a hall and a toilet.
Each house costs £2,600. Give now to change lives.
