With Hardship Comes Ease: Bringing Hope and Relief to Gaza
The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, 'Adhere to Shaam, for it is Allah’s best land, to which He selects His best servants...' [Abu Dawud]
The ceasefire that began on Sunday, 19th January 2025, is a vital step forward, offering hope to the countless families in Gaza who have endured unimaginable suffering. We pray this marks the beginning of lasting peace for Palestinians, who continue to face immense challenges.
Since October 2023, over 46,000 lives have been lost, nearly 70% of whom were women and children. Mass displacement, destroyed infrastructure, and critically damaged water systems have left 97% of Gaza’s water unfit for human consumption, further compounding the humanitarian crisis.
Muslim Hands has been working in Gaza since 2007, providing vital aid during these difficult times. Through partnerships with the World Food Programme and other organisations, we have distributed nearly five million meals to the most vulnerable, including women, children, and the elderly.
Our ongoing £690,000 project to establish three desalination plants will soon deliver safe water to 30,000 people daily.
Amid harsh winter conditions, we are also providing shelter and £500,000 worth of warm clothing to 20,000 children as part of our winter appeal. These efforts, made possible by our supporters’ generosity, have raised nearly £9 million, enabling us to deliver lifesaving aid and hope to those in need.
While the ceasefire offers a glimmer of relief, the road to rebuilding Gaza is long. With 2.2 million people facing acute food insecurity and limited access to water, the need for support remains urgent. Muslim Hands will continue delivering hot meals, clean water, and essential supplies to ensure ease and dignity for those suffering. Together, we can make a difference.
