Rebuilding Lives in Pakistan

Muslim Hands

In Pakistan, our teams on the ground are working hard to build flood-resilient brick homes for families that have lost everything in the devastating floods last summer. Alhamdulillah, because of your generous donations, we have started the construction of 110 houses in four of the most affected villages in Balochistan.

Families who were left with nothing, now have the space and facilities they never had before, including a large living space, a seperate kitchen and bathroom.

In this video, our Director of Fundraising Yasrab Shah leads a tour through one of the homes in construction and explains the incredible impact these homes have on the survivors:

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, A believer to another believer is like a building whose different parts enforce each other’. [Abu Musa]

These new homes have been built so that if any future flood or climate disaster were to devastate Pakistan again, these sturdy and reliable homes will remain intact. To ensure that this happens, these houses have:

  • a seismic proof roof enforced with steel and iron
  • galvanised steel windowns and doors
  • three foot concrete foundation and damp proof course to protect the family from flooding

We need your support to reach even more vulnerable families. Your donations will protect them from future climate disasters and from the poor conditions they are currently living in. £2000 will fund the construction of an entire house, but even just £100 will lay 650 bricks of a home a family urgently needs. Give now to relieve the distress of flood survivors.
