The Day of 'Arafah, the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, is the most blessed day of the entire year and the pinnacle of the Hajj journey, as the Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, 'Hajj is 'Arafah'. (Nasa'i)
On this day, the pilgrims will stand for hours on the plains of 'Arafat facing the Qiblah between Dhuhr and Maghrib, begging Allah for His forgiveness. Just as Laylatul Qadr is the most special night from the last ten nights of Ramadan, 'Arafah is the most special day from the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah - a time when Allah showers His mercy upon those seeking repentance and Shaytaan is utterly defeated.
