The Prophet (saw) said, 'It (Shaam) is Allah's best land, to which He sends His best servants'. [Abu Dawud]

The people of Shaam are beloved to Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw), and we are honoured to facilitate your Zakat and Sadaqah towards these blessed people. In February 2021, we asked you to build homes for displaced families in northern Syria - and alhamdulillah, your response was incredibly generous!

We are delighted to tell you that some families have already begun moving into the new homes you've built them!

These families have been living in makeshift shelters, tents or out in the open for years. All of them have stories to tell about bitterly cold winters, tents flooded in the middle of the night, or landslides that made it impossible to access medical care. They have made countless du'as for a proper shelter to protect them - and your donations are the answer to their du'as.
As you can see, these houses are part of a much larger residential complex, which is being built through an international collaboration of humanitarian organisations.

The complex will include include 50,000 brick houses, schools and medical facilities, as well as infrastructure like roads, a sewage system and garbage disposal.

A borehole has already been constructed at the site: it is 600 metres deep and, like the rest of the infrastructure, will most likely be powered by solar electricity.
Each brick house is 38m² and includes two main rooms, a kitchen, a washroom and a small yard. The houses are also fully-furnished. The total cost of building each home is just £1,200.

These homes are not just shelters which will protect families from the elements - they also represent stability, normalcy and hope. And we pray that Allah rewards you generously for building these homes - with a house in His Jannah, amin!

If you haven't donated to the Syria Housing Fund yet, now's your chance! Your Zakat and Sadaqah will help us build homes for even more families, sharing the blessings of Ramadan with the blessed people of Syria!
