Your Donations from Last Winter!

Last winter, you gave so much to our vulnerable brothers and sisters - and we wanted to thank you once again! Your generosity allows us to expand our work year-on-year, so we can keep reaching even more people with vital relief.

Your donations kept 28,250 people warm last winter. We'd like to share with you a few of their stories!

As our team distributed winter supplies in Afghanistan, they heard so many moving stories.

Razia, a widowed mother, was struggling to provide for her four daughters. Though she was working hard by washing clothes for her neighbours, she barely had enough money to put food on the table.

You reached out and protected this suffering family – and subhanAllah, their lives have been transformed. Not only did you send them warm clothes, blankets and essential food, your donations ensured our team could continue to support Razia on a long-term basis. She is now running her own tailoring business, ma sha Allah!
Every winter, we make sure to target the most vulnerable people - such as children, the elderly, orphans and widows. Without your help, they would find it difficult to cope with the harsh weather.

Ma sha Allah, there are so many people who made du'a for you last winter! Mothers thanked you for looking after their orphaned children, sending them compassion from across the world. Meanwhile, children made du'a on behalf of their elderly parents, who may not have made it through another winter without your support. And grandparents asked Allah (swt) to reward you for protecting their grandchildren.

We ask Allah to accept all their du'as, amin!
The people of Syria are always in our hearts and du'as - but even more so in winter. So many families are living in tents and makeshift shelters, completely exposed to the elements.

Last winter, you made sure these shelters were kept warm with stoves, heating fuel and blankets. These were essential in protecting displaced families from illness when the temperature dropped below zero.
As we fundraise for winter relief every year, we always let you know that it is an emergency situation. Remote communities in Pakistan, for example, are cut off from nearby towns due to heavy snowfall, so they would not be able to access food without your donations. Your donations keep families nourished and healthy and help them survive.

However, our team were pleased to hear that your donations were also bringing joy to people's hearts - because children were able to play comfortably in their new winter clothes!

‘My grandchildren played in the snow in jackets and gloves, and they wrapped up warm in a blanket inside. I felt great happiness seeing them warm and safe from illness’.

We'd like to thank Muhammad, a grandfather from Rawalakot, for sharing his happiness with us. JazakumAllahu khair for making this possible!
For our worldwide teams, for the people we serve and for all our generous supporters, we know that every 'winter package' we distribute is not simply a box of supplies.

Your donations contain the answer to a widow's du'as, as she unpacks a month's worth of food. Your Zakat gives relief to a displaced family, who were worried that they would have no winter clothes after leaving all their belongings behind. And your Sadaqah leads to the smile on a sleeping child's face, as they wrap up in a blanket which keeps them warm.

To those who gave to our Winter Appeal last year, we want you to know that your donation made a world of difference, alhamdulillah!

The Prophet (saw) said, 'Verily, the believers are like a structure, each one strengthening the other'. [Bukhari]

This winter, we invite you to strengthen even more of our brothers and sisters. Our global teams are already distributing vital winter relief, including food, warm clothes and heating fuel. Your Zakat and Sadaqah will bring warmth and security to those living in war zones, refugee camps and disadvantaged communities.

Once again, we ask you to be the answer to their du'as: 'Keep us warm, keep us alive'.
