Tens of thousands of people in Türkiye and Syria have so far been killed after two massive earthquakes struck on February 6 2023. The quake is the biggest the region has seen in 100 years and has caused widespread destruction.
Thousands have been injured and whole areas have been reduced to rubble. The aftershocks will continue for months, adding to the initial destruction. Millions of people have been forced to shelter in tents or out in the open.
As part of our relief efforts, we are supplying winter resistent tents to displaced families inside northern Syria. Each tent will include a large water container and solar lighting. Thousands of families are now in urgent need of shelter.
We are also constructing family container homes in Hatay, one of the worst hit provinces of Türkiye, and running a mega bread factory serving 50,000 fresh loaves a day in Afrin, the second worst impacted area of Syria.

Our team on the ground have provided us with their eyewitness accounts of the true destruction these earthquakes have caused. From city to city, they have witnessed the horrific devastation that has killed thousands of lives and uprooted thousands more.
