The 2.6 Challenge!

Start Fundraising
Event Finished
The 2.6 Challenge will launch on Sunday 26th April. This should have been the date of the London Marathon, but this was postponed due to the pandemic.

All Muslim Hands’ fundraising events have been also been postponed. This means that there's no chance for us to physically come together for a good cause this Ramadan.

But we can still gather online!

On Sunday 26th April, why not take part in the 2.6 challenge and post about your progress on social media? The 2.6 challenge is all about completing an activity based around the numbers 26 or 2.6 and fundraising for a good cause. No need to be a marathon runner to take part – this is a challenge for all ages and abilities.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

Get Active! Put a twist on our Step Up For Hope Challenge! Instead of walking for 1km, why not walk for 2.6 km on 26th April? Or maybe walk up and down the stairs 26 times? You could also run 26 miles on a treadmill, run 26 laps around your home or garden, or juggle 3 or 4 items for 2.6 minutes and post a video on social media.

Iftar Challenges! Cut a hydrating, nourishing watermelon for Iftar in just 2.6 minutes. Or commit to trying 26 new recipes this Ramadan. Or try 26 Sunnah foods this Ramadan.

Good Deeds With Friends! Memorise 26 hadith with your friends and share them on social media. Or Memorise 26 du'as with your friends and share them on social media. You can also read 2.6 pages of the Qur'an with translation every day of Ramadan. Or you can raise money for 26 food parcels to give to Syria, Yemen, Gaza or elsewhere.

With Kids! Who can build the biggest Lego Tower in 2.6 minutes? Who can put on 26 items of clothing the fastest? Who can hop around the house for 2.6 minutes?

Feed the needy this Ramadan

The Prophet (saw) said, ‘Whoever feeds a person breaking his fast will earn the same reward as him, without anything being lessened from the reward of the fasting person’. [Tirmidhi]

The Prophet (saw) encouraged us to give Iftar to those in need during this blessed month, even if we can only give a small amount. When you take part in the 2.6 Challenge, each pound you raise will provide a meal to someone in need.

Help us provide food and water to those who need it most. The more you give for the sake of Allah, the more Allah will give to you. Donate now to multiply the reward of your fasts.

Q. How much do I need to raise?

A. Each participant must raise a minimum of £260. However, we are hoping that our enthusiastic participants aim for a more enthusiastic individual fundraising target.

Q. Who can take part?

A. This event is open to everyone, and is a fun way to get active and raise funds for a good cause.

Q. Where will the event take place?

A. The event will take place in your home or local area. Please abide by social distancing guidelines.
