Water is a basic necessity of life, yet millions of people around the world lack access to this essential resource. By setting up a fundraising page, you can make a difference and help quench the thirst of those who need it most.
The money you raise will build water wells, boreholes and water filtration plants in rural communities in Africa and Asia, where people currently have no choice but to walk for miles to collect dirty, contaminated water. This not only puts their health at risk, but also takes up valuable time that could be spent on education, work, or caring for family members.
What is the Quench Their Thirst initiative?
This year, we have launched the Quench Their Thirst initiative to inspire you to give the best form of charity to those in need.
To get involved in this campaign, all you have to do is sign up, choose which type of water project you want to raise funds for and set up a page. Once you have set up your page, you can then share with family, friends and colleagues. When you share your page, you will be inspiring those around you to support your fundraising mission and share in the reward of every single donation that is made.

By raising funds to build water wells, you will be helping to provide a long-term, sustainable solution to the water crisis in these communities, which means families will have access to safe, clean water right on their doorstep. This will improve their health, increase their productivity, and help them build a brighter future for themselves and their children.
Each fundraiser will receive a feedback report, a great charity gift certificate and they will also be able to add their name or name of a loved one on the Water Well Plaque
Gift Water to Save Lives
Today, two out of every three people in the world lack access to safe water. Despite the massive scale of this crisis, your incredible generosity is allowing us to launch life-saving projects for communities across the globe every day. From constructing new wells to building water filtration plants, you are providing clean drinking water in a variety of ways.
We take a holistic approach to our projects, making sure people know how to use water sources safely, maintain new wells and keep up good health and hygiene practices. Our worldwide teams carry out water testing and set up local committees to manage water projects after they are completed, ensuring our interventions are sustainable and directly managed by the people we are helping.
Drop by drop, every donation is making a difference to one more person. Clean water reduces the spread of deadly illnesses, puts more children in school, gives more women the opportunity to work, improves agriculture and ultimately revives and transforms an entire community.

A. We welcome fundraisers of all ages to take part in this initiative. If you are under 18 years old, you will need to get your parents/guardians permission before setting up your fundraising page

A. When you click on the JustGiving campaign page link at the top, click start fundraising on the campaign page and then follow the instructions. If you are having issues setting up your page or need some help, then do contact us on events@muslimhands.org.uk or contact our team on 0115 9117222 (2013)
A. We are giving all fundraisers 9 months to complete your water well fundraiser (From the day, you set up your fundraiser). However, we will be on hand during that time to help and support you with your fundraising initiative.
A. Once you have completed your fundraising, you can contact us on events@muslimhands.org.uk and we will look at getting your water well constructed for you.
Please note: A well can take up to 9-12 months to complete as in some locations they can only be constructed during certain times of year.
Once your well is constructed, we will send you a great charity certificate, feedback report and also you can add the names you would like us to be added to the plaque
