Muslim Hands School Bus Caught in Cross-Border Fire Near Nakyal Sector

Tijen Horoz

It is with heavy hearts that we are sharing the news that a school bus containing orphans and needy children from the Muslim Hands Model School Nara Dhuruti was hit in cross-border fire near Nakyal Sector today. The bus was travelling in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and was hit by army mortar fire from across the border.

Tragically, the bus driver was killed in the incident. We pray that Allah (swt) has mercy on him and ask that all donors keep him and the children in their dua’s. Alhamdulillah, all eight children that were injured, seven of whom were orphans, are now well and recovering in hospital or at home. Our local teams are providing whatever support is needed.

As an international organisation working with victims of poverty, disaster and conflict, the locations we are active in can pose serious challenges and dangers, but our teams on the ground are committed to ensuring that vulnerable communities all over the world receive the support they need when they need it.
