Ramadan Kareem from Muslim Hands!
The new moon has been sighted and that can only mean one thing…Ramadan has arrived! As the holiest month of the year starts, we’ll begin to focus even more energy on worshipping Allah (swt) and helping the poor and needy across the globe. As Prophet Muhammad (saw) declared:
'Oh people! A great month has come over you; a blessed month; a month in which one night is better than a thousand months; a month in which Allah has made it compulsory upon you to fast by day, and voluntary to pray by night… It is the month of patience, and the reward of patience is Heaven. It is the month of charity, and a month in which a believer's sustenance is increased.' (Ibn Khuzaymah)
So, as we start this holy month of fasting, charity and worship, let us remember those who are living in crisis or severe hardship. Let's not forget the millions of people worldwide affected by war, famine and extreme poverty. May we all make the most of this blessed month and help those in need.
