'We tried to Escape Hunger, but Fell into a Death Trap'

Muslim Hands

Trapped in the besieged city of Ghouta, Ahmad Abu Fahd’s family were so hungry they had resorted to eating leaves. Desperate and on the brink of starvation, they escaped, making their way to the Lebanese border. On the way, Ahmad’s 11-year-old son, Abdallah, was shot multiple times, sustaining serious injuries.

Now living illegally in a refugee camp in Lebanon, they are not much better off. In Syria, Ahmad Abu Fahd was an ambulance driver, but in Lebanon he is not allowed to work so the family are condemned to a hand-to-mouth existence, terrified they will be sent back to the war zone at any moment.

Your donations are providing emergency relief in Lebanon, Turkey and Syria itself.

With the Syrian crisis showing no sign of abating, your help is needed more than ever.
