Asalamu Alaykum!

There's a lot that goes on at Muslim Hands behind the scenes, so here's an insight into some of the amazing work our teams have been up to during the past week!

This week marked the beginning of the month of Rabi ul-Awwal, as we launched the Blessed Lands Appeal here in the UK. Across the globe our teams have been busy with food distributions, training opportunities, playing crickets and bringing joy to our children!

The Prophet (saw) said, 'Paradise has a door called 'joy' - only those who bring joy to children will pass through it' [Dailami]

Let's take a look at some of the images sent by our amazing offices:

The Muslim Hands SA team took to the streets today and delivered a very welcomed distribution of three pots of warm food which benefited over 500 needy children, elderly women and men.
Our SA team supported a lady called Gogo who runs a local kitchen called the Gogo Kitchen. This was stablished by herself during the midst of the pandemic when the rest of Gugulethu were deprived from accessing various soup kitchens for their daily meals.

Gogo went against all odds and adhered to COVID regulations and fed hundreds weekly. She relied on neighbours and those who could afford to contribute to her efforts.

Furthermore, our team provided her with cooking equipment and food items towards her kitchen to help sustain her community kitchen.

Gogo expressed her deepest gratitude to MHSA for acknowledging her work in the community and believing in her vision to make a difference. This is all because of your support!
The Prophet (saw) said, 'The best of you are those who feed others'. [Ahmad]
A Muslim Hands cricket tournament was held in Kabul for Afghan children, which included orphans. This allows them an opportunity to socialise through support and provide them with something to look forward to.
Hygiene education is ever so important, and our schools are always ensuring children are up to date about water hygiene!
Muslim Hands Pakistan held a two-day training session for front line Medical workers on Infection, Prevention and Control. This will further enable them to make the necessary preparations to continue the fight against the pandemic and hospitals will be equipped with the necessary equipment in District Khyber and Kurram KPK Pakistan.

Your donations provided our school in Jhelum with new desks, helping to ensure social distancing and improving the quality of education for the orphans!
And finally, our children in our Islamabad School of Excellence celebrated #WorldFoodDay as they were taught the importance of giving food to those in need. It's beautiful to see that despite many of these orphans being from a low-income background themselves, they were ready to give what little they had to those more in need!

If you'd like to see more of the work we've been up to around the globe, then do check out our social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!

May Allah (swt) reward you all for your support and mercy, our work is only possible through your du'as and donations!
