Yemen is on Their Knees: Feed their Children

Muslim Hands

Every 10 minutes, a child dies from preventable causes in Yemen. Eight years of war have ravaged the country, leaving 60% of the population with no idea where their next meal will come from. As the war comes to an end, our brothers and sisters in Yemen desperately needs our help to rebuild their lives.

Young Muhammad is amongst countless children that have been orphaned during the war. His grandmother, Faiza is struggling to provide for him, ‘I suffer when I see my house without food for the children.’ Both herself and her husband have no source of income and are forced to ask people for their Zakat to feed the children.

Many Yemenis are in the same boat as them. Watch now to hear Faiza’s story:

For just £12.50 per month, you can provide a child in Yemen with nutritious school meals for the entire academic year. You can also give a one-off contribution of £150 or give any amount to the Yemen School Meals Fund.

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, ‘Allah, Mighty and Sublime be He, will say on the Day of Resurrection […] “O son of Adam, I asked you for food and you did not feed Me”. He will say, “O Lord, how can I feed You when You are the Lord of the worlds? He (Allah) will say, “Did you not know that My servant so-and-so asked you for food and you did not feed him? Did you not know that had you fed him you surely would have found that (the reward for doing so) with Me?”’ [Muslim]

Every meal can save a life in a country where 2.2 million children don’t have enough to eat.
