Q. Who can take part in the Muslim Charity Run?
A. The Muslim Charity Run is open to anyone who is fit and able to run. This is a family event and we are happy for children to take part. However, all children under the age of 12 taking part in the fun run MUST be accompanied by an adult.
The run itself is for men and boys of all ages, and of any faith or none but anyone is welcome at the park on the day.
Q. How can I register and much money do I have to raise to qualify?
A. You can register by clicking on the 'Register' button at the top of the webpage.
Once you have registered, please pay the registration fee of £20 (non-refundable) to secure your place. This can be paid online by clicking on the 'Registration Fee' button at the top of this page or by calling our Donations Line on 0115 911 7222 (open 9am-8pm, Mon-Fri).
Please note a minimum of £250 must be fundraised. However, we are hoping that our enthusiastic fundraisers aim for a more pioneering individual target.
Q. Where will the run take place?
A. Both the start and finish of the run will be within Victoria Park.
In addition, please take care when running around the course as this is public park and local residents will be out and about. Always stay on the left unless otherwise guided. There will be stewards around the course to provide help – and to cheer you on!
Q. What will the day consist of?
A. The Muslim Charity Run will be at one of the established routes of Victoria Park, E3 5TB. Participants must arrive at the park by 10.30am and the race will start at 11am. You will be sent your fun run race numbers and T-shirts prior to the event. Please bring these along to the run as a confirmation. Please note that placing will be based on a ‘start horn’. So if you are ‘in it to win it’, aim to get to the front for the start of the fun run by arriving early.
After the run, all participants will receive custom made medals at the end of the fun run. You are advised to keep your own race timing.
You can then join your supporters and fellow runners in the marquee after the run, where we will present prizes to the fastest runners from each age category. Drinks, snacks and toilets will be available. No bag storage will be available, so please try to travel light!
Q. What should I wear?
A. Comfortable running shoes are a good place to start, as well as appropriate loose clothing. It is advisable to bring a fully charged mobile phone in case we need to contact you.
We are anticipating for the day to be a hot summer's day, so do ensure you are hydrated, bring a pair of sunglasses and apply any sun lotion or cream to avoid sun burn.
