Help the Families of Africa

As the famine crisis grows in Africa - the UN has warned that 50,000 children are at risk of starving to death. Without drastic action, millions could die.

Muslim Hands has been working with communities in 27 of the poorest countries in Africa to provide essential food and water relief, education, livelihoods support and healthcare for over twenty years.

Thanks to you, we’ve been able to reach millions of people suffering the effects of war, famine and drought. From providing emergency relief at times of crisis, to establishing orphan sponsorship and educational programmes, Muslim Hands has remained committed to empowering communities across the continent.

This Ramadan, we need your support to help the families of Africa by providing food and medical care. Your generosity and support over the years has enabled us to continue and expand our work since the beginning of our presence in Africa.

Q. Who can take part in Walk for Africa?

A. We aim to bring families together for a family challenge! Walk for Africa is an event which is open to anyone who is up for the challenge. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

All routes are wheelchair friendly and the event is open to all.

Q. How much do I need to raise?

A. Each participant must raise a minimum of £200. However, we are hoping that our enthusiastic participants aim for a more enthusiastic individual fundraising target.

Q. What happens on the day?

A. The registration desk opens at 6.30PM and the walk starts at 19:30PM. Depending on your pace, we anticipate the walk will be completed by all participants between 20:30PM and 21:00PM.

Once you have completing the walk, iftar and certificates will be provided as well as entertainment and the day will be finished by 21:50PM

Q. What should I wear?

A. Comfortable walking shoes is a good place to start, it is advisable to bring a fully charged mobile phone in case we need to contact you.

In addition, you do not need to bring a prayer mat as a prayer area will be allocated on the day along with WC facilities to perform Wudhu.

Q. What do I need to bring with me?

A. You can bring your own food if you like but iftar will be provided insha'Allah. It's also a good idea to bring your mobile phone fully charged in case we need to contact you for any reason as well as any regular medication that you take.

If you have any questions or would like further information please contact us.

We will aim to reply within 2 working days, but it can take a little longer during busy times.
