Supporting The People Of Yemen

The people of Yemen were directly blessed by the Prophet Muhammad (saw) - but these blessed people are currently suffering from ‘the worst man-made humanitarian crisis of our time’

The ongoing conflict is devastating already impoverished communities. Millions have been displaced and Yemen is on the brink of famine. Now, the coronavirus pandemic is threatening vulnerable families even more, with half of all health facilities damaged or unable to function.

With your help, we’ve been distributing food parcels, providing school meals, and setting up mobile health clinics in rural areas. We are also constructing water wells and rehabilitating existing ones to provide vulnerable communities with safe water.

Q. Who can take part in Hike for Yemen?

A. Participants must be aged 18 years or above, with a reasonable level of health and fitness.

Anybody experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 within 2 weeks of the event must abstain from attending and inform the Events team.

Q. Will transport be available?

A. Transport is not included; we ask all participants to join us at our meeting point.

Q. How much do I need to raise?

A. The fundraising target is £200. However, we are hoping that our enthusiastic participants aim for a more ambitious individual fundraising target!

When setting up a JustGiving page, select 'Start Fundraising' on the top of this page and follow the instructions. Any donations collected offline, such as cash, must be transferred to Muslim Hands by the event date.

Q. What safety measures are in place against the spread of Coronavirus?

A. Your safety and well-being remain our highest priority. We want to ensure that you feel safe while on this hike. So, we will make sure we follow the most recent government guidelines to protect all participants and staff from potential contamination.

We will provide you with face masks, hand sanitisers and gloves. You will be required to complete a health declaration prior to departure.

We ask you to observe social distancing from everyone who does not belong to your household throughout the hiking trip.
