Do you want to escape London for a countryside haven without the long travelling time? Think outside of the box with our family-friendly trek.

There will be trees to climb in, leaves to tumble in, sticks to race on the river like boats, creepy-crawlies to discover... this is the kind of outdoors family time that many of us just don't get enough of anymore. You can even take the stepping stones trail down to the river through a rich habitat for local wildlife.

The fundraising target is £200 which will help orphans around the world to receive an education.

If you have any questions or need further information, please get in touch at events@muslimhands.org.uk – or call our team on 0115 911 7222.

When and Where

Date

24 September 2022

Start

11:00

Venue

Box Hill Park, Surrey, KT20 7LB

What is the Box Hill Trek?

We are holding this 4 mile trek as a symbol of our solidarity with orphans around the world. This trek is very family friendly as the first half of your walk is as much an adventure playground as it is a ramble.

The new natural play trail, with its tunnels, log bridges and rope swings, is a wonderland for the kids. They will be tempted to wander off the path and go wild – and we defy you not to do the same!

Then you can finish off with the calm and serene stepping stones trail, taking in wildlife, woods and scenic upland meadows.

Support Orphans around the world

There are an estimated 200 million children worldwide that have experienced the loss of parents. Many of these children will come from already disadvantaged backgrounds.

Not only does this put their short-term needs at risk, including access to food and healthcare, but for so many children, they lose their access to education once the main breadwinner is gone. By joining this event, you will be helping orphans across the world receive a quality education, giving them the foundation they need to build a brighter future.

“Blessed is the wealth of the Muslim, from which he gives to the poor,
the orphan and the wayfarer.” (Muslim)
