Seven Sister Cliffs

What is Seven Sisters Cliffs

The Seven Sisters are a series of seven cliffs that span along the English coastline – each distinguished by a prominent hilltop. The cliffs are extremely rugged from sea erosion and are made from white chalk, which makes them stand out significantly against the English Channel.

The name of Seven Sisters was given by sailors as they could see seven white cliffs when approaching the coast. However, an additional cliff was covered by the grass all the way down to the beach and could not be seen. With the erosion, this eighth cliff is now visible from the sea.

Located in the South Downs National Park, the South Downs Way runs along the cliffs, offering breath taking views of the English Channel coastline. The chalk gives the water a turquoise Caribbean-like colour which enhances the beauty of the site.

Water for Yemen

Described by the UN as the ‘worst man-made humanitarian crisis of our time’, the war in Yemen has turned a poor country into a humanitarian catastrophe.

Already one of the most water-scarce countries in the world, the destruction of so much of Yemen’s infrastructure has left over 16 million people without access to safe water and sanitation [UN]. Our large-scale water projects include water tanks, reservoirs, pipelines and wells throughout five governorates. Donate now to give the best charity to the best people.

Providing water to Yemen will improve health, alleviate suffering and ultimately save lives.
