Ukraine Refugee Crisis: Muslim Hands is on the Ground
On Thursday 10th March 2022, our SURGE team flew into Poland to carry out emergency aid distributions for Ukrainian refugees. While there are many volunteers helping out on the border, there is an urgent need to support refugee families arriving in big cities like Warsaw.
Yasrab Shah, our Director of Fundraising, spoke to BBC East Midlands about how your donations are making a difference on the ground:
As of Sunday 13th March, over 2.8 million people have fled Ukraine, with more than 1.7 million refugees crossing into Poland [UN]. The vast majority are women, children and elderly people. You can learn more in our interview with Islam Channel.
Our team are distributing food (including halal meat), hygiene kits and blankets to help them get through the worst of the crisis. We urgently need your help to reach more refugees with vital aid. Donate now.
