For intentionally missed Ramadan fasts
Kaffarah is a form of compensation and repentance for deliberately missing or breaking a fast during Ramadan without a valid reason.
It is a serious matter, but Allah’s mercy is vast. Kaffarah allows you to seek forgiveness by feeding 60 disadvantaged people for every fast day missed intentionally.
Your Kaffarah donation directly supports our feeding programmes in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. Through our teams on the ground, we distribute cooked iftars and Ramadan food parcels.

Missed a day's fast without a valid reason? Pay Kaffarah (to cover 60 meals) for each day missed.
Are you missing fasts unintentionally? Calculate how many days and donate to the Fidyah fund.
Unable to fast the whole of Ramadan? Pay Fidyah for the full month.
Your Fidyah donation directly supports our feeding programmes in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.
We ensure your Kaffarah reaches those who need it most.
If a person deliberately misses or breaks a fast during Ramadan without a valid reason, they must pay Kaffarah as compensation.
The Kaffarah amount for Ramadan 2026 is £420 for each missed or deliberately broken fast. This amount is based on the cost of feeding 60 people, as instructed in the Qur’an:
'And whoever cannot fast must feed sixty poor people.' [The Noble Qur’an, 2:184]
Paying Kaffarah is an act of both repentance and mercy. It reminds us of the sanctity of fasting while giving us the opportunity to help those who are hungry.
Kaffarah applies when a person breaks or misses a fast without a valid reason.
Fidyah, on the other hand is given when someone cannot fast for a valid reason, such as illness or old age, and is unable to make up the missed fasts later.
The amount also differs: Kaffarah requires feeding 60 people for each fast broken deliberately. While Fidyah covers the cost of feeding one person per missed fast.
