When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him.

What is Sadaqah Jariyah
It is ongoing charity that provides long-term benefits to others. It is the ultimate form of giving, creating a stream of reward that continues long after we have gone.
How it differs from regular Sadaqah
Sadaqah may help someone immediately, such as giving a meal, providing clothing. But a Sadaqah Jariyah goes beyong the immediate need, providing benefit that continues over time, long after the initial donation.
