Who is most affected in this crisis?
Children
Children are among the most severely affected by Yemen’s humanitarian crisis, facing chronic malnutrition, disease and disruption to education. Many lack access to sufficient food, clean water and basic healthcare, leaving them vulnerable to preventable illnesses and long-term physical and cognitive harm. Years of conflict and displacement have also exposed children to trauma and forced some into child labour to help their families survive.
Women
Women in Yemen face heightened risks due to poverty, displacement and limited access to healthcare and livelihoods. Pregnant and breastfeeding women are particularly vulnerable to malnutrition, increasing the risk of complications for both mothers and infants. At the same time, women often carry the burden of caring for families in crisis while having fewer economic opportunities and reduced access to essential services.
Already disadvantaged communities
Families who were struggling to meet their most basic needs before conflict are now contending with rising food prices, collapsing livelihoods and deteriorating public services. Many families rely entirely on humanitarian assistance to survive. Prolonged conflict has pushed already vulnerable households deeper into poverty, making recovery increasingly difficult without sustained support.

Our bread factories in Yemen provide a daily lifeline to families suffering from hunger. Producing over 50,000 loaves of fresh bread each day, they feed orphans, children with disabilities and displaced families who would otherwise go without. It only costs £10 to produce 100 loaves of bread.

We’ve delivered lifelong access to clean water for nearly 3 million people in Ma’rib and Aden through our mega water projects.
