When is Qurbani 2026?

Qurbani, otherwise known as Eid Al Adha, will most likely be on Wednesday 27th May to Friday 29th May, corresponding to the 10th to 12th days of Dhul Hijjah. These are the designated days for offering the sacrifice, following the Eid prayer on the first day. The sacrifice should take place after the Eid prayer on the first day. Dates may vary slightly depending on local moon sightings, so it’s best to confirm with your local mosque closer to the time.

What is Qurbani?

Qurbani (Udhiyah) is the sacred sacrifice performed during Eid al-Adha, commemorating the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (as) to Allah.

It is an act of worship that reflects obedience, gratitude, and compassion. After the sacrifice, the meat is distributed to those in need, allowing vulnerable families to share in the blessings of Eid.

For many people around the world, this may be the only time all year they are able to eat meat.
