Sundas' story (1/2)

When Sundas was a baby, she lost both her father and her home in a terrible earthquake which struck Kashmir in 2005. Her mother, Raeesa Begum, was forced to rely on handouts to provide for her three children. Sundas, now aged 13, was gifted an essential school kit by a generous donor who is helping her build a bright future. Sundas’ mother can’t afford this basic educational equipment, and she is so grateful for the donor’s support. The donor is also paying Sundas’ school fees and has been sponsoring her for seven years.

Sundas is a highly intelligent girl, and Raeesa is glad her daughter’s potential isn’t being wasted. ‘Thank you for helping orphans and planting happiness in their hearts,’ Raeesa says. Words cannot express how glad she is that her daughter can learn and grow in a loving environment. Sundas is at the top of her class and she plans to be a doctor when she grows up. None of this would have been possible had it not been for the generosity of her donor. Even the simple gift of a school kit can help a child like Sundas reach for their dreams.
