Why a wheelchair?

Imagine a lifetime of being confined to your room, dependent on others to move even short distances? Unfortunately, this is the reality for thousands of disadvantaged people with disabilities across the world.

What will your gift do?

This gift will bring the joy of mobility and independence to disabled and elderly people, by providing them with either a wheelchair or, if their condition is treatable, the gift of free medical care and physical therapy.

Abdullah's mother couldn't help him (1/3)

Abdullah has suffered from Cerebral Palsy since he was a baby as a result of an infection his mother contracted during her pregnancy. He is her youngest child and the difficulties he endured were naturally painful to her. Up until the age of eight, Abdullah could not walk or speak at all. Abdullah was forced to rely on his mother completely, and was unable to become independent like other children.

This gift helped Abdullah walk (2/3)

He was unable to hold his neck up or sit without support, and his arms and legs were bent. Abdullah's mother wanted to provide him with the treatment he needed and deserved but there was simply no way for her to afford it. She had no hope - until a generous donor gave Abdullah this amazing gift, providing him with medicine and treatment at the Muslim Hands Medical Centre in Muzaffarabad.

This gift made all the difference (3/3)

The gift also provided Abdullah with regular physiotherapy and speech therapy, as well as transportation to and from the hospital. Thanks to this Great Charity Gift, Abdullah was given full rehabilitation and he is now able to walk with the support of a walking aid. His mother is immeasurably pleased and grateful. The life of this little boy was truly transformed by his donor’s kindness.
