Mali Borehole #2
Help us fundraise to install a solar-powered deep borehole system to provide a sustainable source of clean water for a village in Mali.
Noumoubougou Village is a rural community in the Koulikoro Region of Mali where access to clean and safe drinking water remains a major challenge. Families, particularly women and children, are forced to walk long distances, often more than 2 kilometres each day, to collect water for drinking, cooking, and household use.
By installing a solar-powered deep borehole we'll proide the villagers (up to 2,000 people) access to clean, safe water - creating a sustainable and community-managed water source for many years to come.
The project covers: • Construction of a deep borehole to access safe groundwater in the rocky terrain. • Installation of a solar-powered pump to ensure a reliable and environmentally sustainable water supply. • Connection of the borehole to a storage tank and distribution network with taps located around the village. • Training of selected community members to manage and maintain the water system.
