Major Giving - Filtration plant in Sri Lanka

Help over 1,000 people with access to clean, safe drinking water by providing a water filtration plant in Sri Lanka.

Location: North Province, Sri Lanka This filtration plant will provide water for extremely needy people who have suffered for many years The long civil war in Sri Lanka resulted in many Muslim communities becoming displaced from their homes. They were eventually allowed to return home, yet they have been neglected and thus continue to live in poverty Many are now suffering from waterborne diseases and an increase in health issues such as kidney disease, related to unclean and contaminated water The women and children have no choice but to travel long distances to find clean water, opening themselves up to violence and abuse along the way. Reverse osmosis (RO) is a technology that is used to separate and remove a large majority of water impurities RO can eradicate up to 99%+ of the dissolved solids, particles, colloids, organics, bacteria and pyrogens from water. In short, it cleans the water of dangerous bacteria and makes it suitable for drinking Beneficiaries: Over 1,000 (direct and indirect)
