Major Giving - Solar Powered Borehole Pakistan
By donating a solar-powered borehole you will be providing clean, safe water for up to 3,000 people a day. The borehole's solar-panels mean it can be operated, even when there is no electricity.
With over 3.4 million people dying from water-related illnesses each year [WHO], unsafe water is the single biggest obstacle to the progression and health of communities in the developing world. In Pakistan, despite big improvements in the provision of safe water and sanitation, an estimated 70 percent of households still drink contaminated water (UN).
A solar-powered borehole well will provide access to clean, safe water even when electricity isn’t available. We build these wells in strategic locations such as next to mosques and schools to ensure the whole community has easy access to them. Each well comes with its own water storage tanker and serves over 100 families.
