Sponsor a Child with Disabilities
Life for a child with disabilities is even more difficult in countries affected by conflict and poverty. Your sponsorship will ensure these young people receive the care they need to reach their full potential.
By sponsoring a Hifz student, you are helping a child in need while gaining the reward of teaching the Qur’an. Your support allows disadvantaged children to memorise the Qur’an, opening doors to Islamic scholarship and future roles as teachers and Imams.
Sponsoring a Hifz student is a unique opportunity for Sadaqah Jariyah. By spreading beneficial knowledge and nurturing righteous children, you earn continuous reward long after your sponsorship ends.

The Prophet (saw) said, 'The best of you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.'
[Bukhari]
Sponsoring a Hifz student is one of the most rewarding acts of Sadaqah Jariyah, because every verse memorised, every prayer recited, and every lesson taught continues to benefit you long after your donation.
Through the Muslim Hands Hifz Sponsorship Programme, you support orphaned and vulnerable children to memorise the Holy Qur’an while continuing their formal education in a safe, caring environment.
Your sponsorship covers essential needs including tuition, learning materials, uniforms, meals, and accommodation—allowing students to focus on their studies and spiritual growth.
Whether you are sponsoring a child at a Muslim Hands Qur’an academy in Pakistan or an approved madrassa in Somalia, you help preserve the Qur’an and empower future Imams, teachers and community leaders.
The Hifz Student Sponsorship programme is available in both Somalia and Pakistan. If you can't decide, let us choose for you!
You can either set up a direct debit for £27 per month, or choose to donate annually which will cost £324.
Once your sponsorship is active, we'll be in touch with updates on your sponsored child and their progress memorising the Quran.
Throughout your time as a sponsor, we’ll continue to send you regular updates on the progress of your sponsored child.
Whenever possible, supervised visits may be arranged with the agreement of the Muslim Hands office, the student, and their guardian. Please note that visits cannot take place at the student's home, in accordance with our Muslim Hands Policy. Meetings are held at the local Muslim Hands office/Madrassa office, and for safety reasons, we do not share any personal details, such as the student's address or telephone number.
You will be responsible for your own travel arrangements, providing an up-to-date DBS certificate, and covering the travel and food costs for the student and their guardian. All arrangements must be made through Muslim Hands, and during your visit, you will be accompanied by a member of staff.
If you would like to visit your child, please contact us at least three months in advance by emailing your request to mail@muslimhands.org.uk or by calling 0115 911 7222. You will need to provide dates on when you intend to visit.
Hifz sponsorship lasts between three to six years, depending on each child's memorisation ability. Upon completion, the child will be in a much better position to seek employment or to teach others.
Call our donation line on 0115 911 7222 and inform us that you would like to send a gift to your sponsored child. You will need to provide the child's ID and their country. This information can be found on your sponsorship pack, but if you cannot find the details, a member of our team will be happy to assist you.
Simply attach your letter to an email, e.g. in Word, and we will get it across to the orphan’s carer. Our team will review any correspondence received (both hard copies and electronic copies).
If a child wants to send a response back, this is sent to us electronically via the field office, however, please note that they are not obliged to.
Please review our guidance on how to write to your sponsored child here.
There may be more than one donor supporting a Hifz student. This approach helps ensure that your sponsored student receives the highest quality education and services available in their area.
We are committed to transparency and will inform you if the child you sponsor is no longer part of the programme. This may occur if the child completes Hifz, relocates, if the charity concludes its work in that area, in the unfortunate event of the child’s passing, or for other reasons that may result in their departure from the Hifz sponsorship programme.
In such cases, you will usually be given the opportunity to sponsor another child in need or to redirect your support to the Hifz Fund. You will always be kept informed and provided options that reflect your ongoing commitment to making a difference.
You can sponsor a child in Pakistan or Somalia.
