Providing community support across the UK

Food poverty within the UK is a growing problem with 1 in 5 people now struggling to put food on the table.

That’s why we launched our Open Kitchens: community kitchens providing free, hot, nutritious meals every day, seven days a week, to people facing food poverty across the UK. From rough sleepers and refugees to low-income families and the elderly, our doors are open.

  • Daily meals

    We serve over 500 free meals per day across our kitchens in Hounslow (West London), Nottingham and Manchester.

  • All are welcome

    We provide a safe, warm, dignified space for all people to eat, socialise and access other support, including heakth checks and careers advice.

  • Support beyond meals

    Our service users can access advice, referrals and essential aid, including household items and food supplies.

  • Compassionate volunteers

    The project is run entirely by dedicated community members, many of whom have benefitted from the kitchens themselves.

When Dennis lost his job and his home all within a few weeks, he desperately needed help to feed his family. Discovering the Open Kitchen ensured his family didn't go hungry during this difficult time.

‘All I had were my children, my wife, my car and £60 in my wallet. I needed help and the Open Kitchen gave me that help that I needed with a welcoming smile’. 

With the support of The Open Kitchen, Dennis’ family are recovering from the crisis and rebuilding their lives.
